New GMs.
New GMs must wait a week after being inducted into the league before submitting any trades.
- No team may exceed more than 15 players in their lineup during the season or playoffs. It is fine to exceed 15 players during the off season. If a trade means that a team does exceed this limit, they must state which player will be conditionally released before the deal can be completed. A trade must not require your team to sign or release more than two players. In the case that a trade passes and you have more than 15 or less than 12 men on your roster, you are given 24 hours to be between 12-15 men.
- Trading of draft picks is allowed up to a maximum of four years in the future. First round picks may not be traded in consecutive years. Picks with an asterisk can only be traded in their current year during the full allotted rookie draft period. For example, if we are in the 2019 season and I have traded my own 2020 first round draft pick, I can not trade my 2019 first round draft pick until the first day of the 2019 rookie draft. Once we enter the rookie draft, I have the full allotted rookie draft time period to trade it. So even if you've drafted a rookie, you can still trade him in the 2019 rookie draft. After the rookie draft, the pick will have become a player and that player is ineligible to be traded before December 15th. If we are in the 2019 season and I have traded my own 2021 first round draft pick, I cannot trade my 2020 first round draft pick until the 2020 rookie draft.
Players signed during Off Season Free Agency (excluding those players whose options have been picked up or resigned) or rookies from the most recent draft class cannot be traded until December 15th of the regular season following their signing.Rookies and players signed during Off Season Free Agency can be traded once the season starts. (per the 2020 Freedom Act)
- Expiring players must be traded before the trade deadline. Players on expired contracts cannot be traded in the off season.
- When teams agree on a trade, one GM must post the trade in the trade section. The other team(s) involved must reply to this thread with their acceptance of the trade as well as a brief sentence or two explaining why they are accepting or rejecting the trade.
- GMs cannot change their mind about a trade once they've posted the trade thread or replied with an acceptance.
- There are three Trade Committee members. If a trade involving a Trade Committee member's team is deadlocked at 1 accept/1 reject then the CIO has the final vote.
- Two out of three of the trade committee members must approve a trade before it can be processed.
