BOS Sends:
- Otto Porter Jr. $7,700,000 - Waived Contract: Nik Stauskas $500,000
Total Outgoing: $8,200,000
NOP Sends:
- Harrison Barnes Rights
So this was a tough one for me initially as Barnes and Porter have been on a similar career paths fantasy wise. Ultimately I decided that Barnes would have a bigger role on his team. His age fits nicely with the rest of my core, so I decided to make him my other resign.
I accept.

I accept.
I wasn't going to be extending HB, so getting something out of him is great. Otto for a year fits right into what we are trying to achieve at the Pelicans, and bring home that title.
Stauskas contract is also a great chip, because clearly Hornets just wants all the waived contracts in the league in one place.

New Orleans gets an equally productive player in Otto Porter Jr. for an expiring Harrison Barnes who he was not resigning anyways so it makes sense for him.
Boston is trading Porter Jr. for Barnes basically, which I think is a good idea seeing as how Barnes would have been paid over $10m if he was a free-agent and I think Barnes has a higher ceiling than Porter.
I accept.

I accept. This is a fun (and reasonable) trade. I'll take the other side from Hornets: I like Otto better here, both for his game and for the extra year Pelicans will be getting out of him. His upcoming RFA status might create more opportunity for him, too. Boston does plenty well here all the same, since even if he doesn't take the next leap, Barnes will be on a value contract for the next five years ( if he does make that jump this contract will be fantastic). I look forward to watching this one pan out.
