Toronto Receives New York's 2017 1st Round Pick Taurean Prince (2.0, 2.1, 2.1, 2.8, 3.9) Minnesota's 2020 2nd Round Pick
Minnesota Receives Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (3.7, 5.0) Toronto's 2020 1st Round Pick 4m
Effective Cap Implications: Minnesota sheds 2.3m for the 2016/17 season
I had to choose one of KCP and Marcus Smart to sign, but in the end it was decided it was time for KCP to go. In return, I acquired a top 8 pick which more adequately fits my timeline, as well as a low-floor prospect in Taurean Prince. While losing KCP hurts, I knew I wouldn't have been able to re-sign him anyway so it was good for me to get something in return. The 2020 1st rounder will hopefully not be worth too much if all goes according to plan as I will be atop the league around then anyway.

I accept. KCP is the kinda guy I think you hope your draft picks are going to turn into during the span of their rookie contracts. He’s not setting the world on fire or anything, but he’s a plenty solid player with a solid spot on his team. The Knicks pick I’m giving up may turn out to be a player like him down the road, but my championship window is open now. Besides, our Knicks are really just a couple of wins out from taking that pick right out of the lottery.
As for the other pieces, I’m turning in Taurean Prince for a pick in 2020, a year where I’m hoping Turner and Towns are going to start commanding huge salaries. Having a rookie around might make a little more sense around that point.
Four million for a second rounder is pretty good. I’ll take it.

Surely Porzingod will have taken over the league by 2020. That Knicks pick is guaranteed to be a top 8 pick in what is a deep draft so I think Toronto is getting a great return.
I accept.

I accept nice dealing there fellas.
I am pretty big on KCP, so I think Wolves has done pretty well, but Raptors getting a top 10 pick for him is also a pretty solid deal.
