My reasoning: I'm not competing this year period. I need to begin gathering assets to rebuild this team. My first goal was to get a solid piece to accompany Kyrie around the same age or younger. Gobert fits this perfectly. I gave up two expirings which were not worth much to me, but more so to Detroit who will be competing this year.
Yeah I have to give up two great players on good contracts: Bradley and Crowder, but they don't fit my timeline. I do have to take on a HEFTY contract in rubio, but I can wait out Kanter, Gortat, and Rubio while I rebuild (Possibly amnesty one of them.)
I accept.

This comes with great great sadness. Gobert was my baby. My child. The one.
BUT IM HEARTLESS!!!! This helps my team win now. I got rid of the contract i never thought I would get rid off. In return I get three very good players. With the other new players i previously signed, I have no wiggle room next year, Teague comes off the books after this season setting me up to have room for the massive number of draft picks I have next year.
I accept.
No emotions.

Detroit manages to trade Rubio's contract for excellent depth, albeit at the cost of having to also trade Rudy Gobert. Well worth it imo. Boston gets Gobert, the second core player of their team next to Kyrie Irving. Portland, in his usual style, is collecting picks at the cost of nothing to them.
Overall, good trade for all three teams. My only concern is how long Boston will be able to stand Rubio's contract.
I accept.

Portland the clear winner out of this!
For me, I'm not sure who I'd rather have if I was trying to compete, Gobert and Rubio or Teague, Bradley and Crowder. Mainly because Gobert is the best player in this deal, but I suppose depth is also an important part of winning the title.
Anyway, good trading guys.
I accept.
