Hey boys, I'm back for more
Lakers send:
C Steven Adams 3.10 4.30 PF Ed Davis 2.00 2.00 2.00 C Greg Monroe 12.00 12.00 12.00 Jazz 2016 second round pick
Indiana sends:
CJ Miles 4.60 4.80 DeMarre Carroll 4.50 4.50 4.50 Dwight Powell 0.50 0.50 0.50 Myles Turner 3.30 3.40 4.30 5.70 2016 #8
In attempt to fix how small my team was I did that and then some with the addition of one stud and 2 solid big men. Greg Monroe is a bit costly, but he's a solid 20-10 guy. Ed Davis seems up and coming with the blazers, and steven adams is on a team option over the next two years, so if he loses the flow he may have to go.
This trade helps me unload a bit of my hefty roster. CJ miles is a solid player, but a bit expensive for my taste. He also plays for Indiana, I have way too many of those players. Demarre Carroll is a good basketball player, not a great FB player. Who knows what powell will become, LAL wanted him and I needed to cut the roster. Myles Turner will be challenging to let go because his per36 numbers are staggering , but Monroe will fill the void while still being young. Again, it helps decrease the number of guys on one NBA team. Not keen on this year's draft and giving a decently high guaranteed contract to a player who may never make it in the NBA.

I accept this trade because I have been shopping Monroe around since I joined and I fell the salary I am getting rid of will be helpful in the free agency. Also Davis is an easy replacement. Now for the big part Turner , Carroll and the #8 overall pick , Turner has been talked about a lot of people wanting to trade for him. I see Carroll can put up big points next year seeing as he avg 21 points in his short season . The #8 overall pick could be used for a trading piece or another valuable member of LA Lakers, this also lets me lose 5 mill in cap space.

I see this as essentially being Myles Turner and the #8 for Greg Monroe. I think the #8 is overpay, considering Turner averaged 10.7ppg, 6.1rpg, 0.9apg 1.5bpg 0.6spg and Monroe averaged 12.7ppg, 7.1rpg, 2.2apg, 0.8bpg, 0.9spg post all-star break.
I don't think it's bad enough to warrant a rejection but it is concerning to see Indiana give up his depth.

Not that you did, but I don't understand how you can reject a trade on those grounds. It seems to me that the trade commissions' role is to protect against collusion and EXTREMELY unfair trades (in the manner of one team severely swindling another). You have your opinions and I have mine.
The free agency market hasn't opened and I'm not done trading. This year's draft is weak and I don't want to have ~3 million in a rookie that may never amount to anything.

I agree that the trade is lopsided, but if the Lakers can get this then so be it!

Due to pressure from my Asst GM I am Rejecting the trade. The trade committee has yet to decide, so I believe it is still viable to do so. Sorry lakers.
didn't mean to offend you either Magic.

No that's not what I mean. If you would type in coherent sentences maybe we could get somewhere. I'm rejecting the trade. However, I understand that I already said I accept, but the trade committee had yet to make a decision so I believe I am in the right. It is up to the discretion of the trade committee to make a decision.
Further my Asst GM isn't happy with the trade.

I think when YOU posted it , it ment you accepted the trade . Once posted you can't change your mind.

The rules are quite clear about this: - GMs cannot change their mind about a trade once they've posted the trade thread or replied with an acceptance. The other Trade Committee Members will make the final decision.

I just want to let both the Pacers and the Lakers know I love them both, very much. That said, I think this trade is unfair and I reject it.
I have tossed and turned over my decision about this deal for the last 24 hours, and it was an extremely close call. I read that the Pacers wanted to cancel, but even before that (as the Magic can confirm), I was 50/50 about whether to accept or reject.
I believe that a player who averaged 32 per game and earns 12M is overpaid for his salary. Adams and Davis are on deals that are quite average, nothing special. Turner and Carroll are also on deals that fit right within the median of their salary bracket vs fantasy point average. Meanwhile Miles and Powell are overpaid based on their production. In total the Lakers are trading 72.4 points per game, while the Pacers are trading 73.3.
Over the next 3 seasons the Lakers are sending $14M in guaranteed contracts, while the Pacers are sending $0.5M. The Pacers are also taking on an extra $5M in cap space for this season.
Add this all to the fact that Turner has enormous potential and that Pick #8 is going to the Lakers for a 2nd rounder. I think it is too unfair in my opinion.
In closing I want to say this was great trading by you Lakers, as soon as you have teams regretting deals 24 hours after they have accepted them, you know you are doing a good job. The trade still may pass depending on what the Raptors thinks. I know it was a close call for me between whether to accept or reject. But I went with reject because I do think the trade is too unbalanced. If either of you want to chat more about why I rejected feel free to message me.

I understand that the Lakers are killing it on this trade, but what kind of example are we setting here by allowing Indiana to get out of this. I don't think that we should protect teams making bad decisions, if anything we should applaud the Lakers for pulling this off. I know this sucks for Indiana but lesson learned! Who knows? Maybe Greg Monroe will turn it around(he won't).

I understand we have a trade committee but if a team messes up they should have to deal with it , that's what happens in real life, if pacers get out of this they will get out of everything , this also screws me because the #8 pick is on trade talks
