Free Agency Regulations
Our league's free agency period will be based off of a bid system. Here's how the process works:
- Post your player under the correct folder in a new thread
- Include contract terms (how much money and for how many years)
- Once you start the thread, other GMs can place a bid by leaving a comment
- Each new bid must increase the yearly guaranteed amount by $0.5 million or add at least 1 additional guaranteed year (up to 4 years).
- A team cannot redact or withdraw an offer or thread once it has been submitted
Regarding Max Deals: There is NO MAX set for salaries, only years. Knowing this, it is highly recommended that you don't blow half your cap on a single player. But, it is up to you. We're all savvy enough to be unsupervised with our money, right?
Example:
John Smith, PG.
3 years, $10 million/year
$30 million total
The next bid has the be at least:
3 years, $10.5 million per year OR 4 years, $10 million per year
When you’re bidding, you can attach a team option to the last year of the contract but it will not count towards the total.
So:
John Smith, PG.
3 years, $10 million/year
$20 million total, team option on the third year
Is Less Than…
John Smith, PG.
3 years, $10 million/year
$30 million total
- Once a bid has stood for 48 hours, you win that player at the most recent bid you placed
- You can only bid money that you have. For example, if you have $20 million in cap room, you CANNOT bid more than $20 million combined in all of your bids
