At first glance, it definitely looks like Orlando is getting the better side of this deal with the draft picks as well as two solid players. Covington averaged a solid 23.2 last year and Noah is averaging 20.9 with a much improved 31.5 over his last 7 games. Tobias Harris is averaging 28.4 this year so while it appears that he is the better option than both guys individually, it is hard to believe that those two will not put up points that surpass Harris' total. While Tobias Harris is still rather young, so is Covington and he is on a much smaller contract. Now, I'd still rather have Harris than Covington, but those draft picks definitely make the youth factor a wash.
The clear winner of this trade is Orlando. He managed to acquire two solid players in a league where depth should be valued very highly as well as two decent draft picks especially considering I don't see Chicago escaping a lottery pick, all while not losing any money. Well done, Orlando.
Sorry for the long analysis, in the end, I accept.
