Chicago recieves: - DeMar DeRozan (14.5/14.5/14.5)
Portland recieves: - Jrue Holiday (10/10) - PHX 2024 2nd
I accept. Pretty simple, I get 7-8 FPPG for a 2nd rounder.

I accept. Obvious win to get paid to take a shorter and cheaper contract with similar production.

Unfortunately, as the best GM in the league (shoutout to Mavs 2015-2022, Bucks 2020-2023 and Wizards on November 18th, 2021 trading for Maxey) requires being objective about all moves, including good moves from people you loathe and bad moves from yourself (see: Trading Maxey to Wizards).
The Portland Urinal Cakes took the piss out of Bulls here, big W trading a fucking gigantic negative like Derozans albatross 14.5 14.5 14.5 (NO OPTION) as the 34 (!!) year old trade risk to the Lakers where he'll put up 30 FPPG and be untradeable.... for a contract that will just be 10m next year and easily eatable since Trollblazers are back to tanking or can move it for a 2nd or two....
Bulls bails Blazers dogshit FA signing disaster for a few more dollars FPG, slightly increasing his lead on the pack and increasing his odds to win the championship, while reducing his odds to win future seasons and decreasing the value of his franchise.
He probably figures theres someone dumb enough to take Derozans 14.5 14.5 next year for chump change, and based on Bucks trading his absolutely horrendous donkey dick Christian Wood 4x10m that he signed himself for cheap instead of being justly punished, he is probably right so not necessarily a death knell. I puked a little in my mouth being reminded how Bucks didnt have to eat that contract. LAME.
Regardless, fantastic business by Portland unfortunately. I hate you.
Bad Bulls, but he's all-in on this year and you can't truly hate it. Go Bulls!
I approve
