I approve. What is a pick worth if not a stud(ish) young(ish) player beloved by his coach.

Good trade by both teams.
A 30 FPPG player in a solid situation for 0.5m locked in for 3 years is excellent value for a cash-strapped, all-in, win now team like the Nuggets who has a short runway to win a championship.
With no re-signs, and a slew of rapidly aging and declining players and lots of short contracts, Denver's window is closing -- Zach Collins is a good move.
Nuggets obituary has been written before, and he's managed to re-tool in Summer FA to excellent results and avoid the tank, but without Lakers here to gift him more Tatums and with significantly stronger GMs circling free agents in the off-season, there's no guarantee that Summer Houdini can keep the FA magic going. As currently contructed, he has to win now while Pelicans and Suns are bad and out of the picture.
Bucks has made a case for himself of being the best GM over a 3-year span and with all his players locked up for 3 years with no cost spikes, and 4-5 blue chip young guys who project to increase their FPPG, he's going to become more formidable as time goes on, not less. Suns rebuild could come online as early as next season. Ant Edwards and Bilal Coulibaly could take leaps and propel Mavs back to the top.
The time for Nuggets to win is now. This is an excellent trade for him.
As for Sacramento, he has moved his contention window to 2035 or something so this move makes sense given his long-term strategy, and that 2027 Nuggets pick could be very nice. Zach Collins is 26 and has been a sub-30 FPPG guy who has missed quite a bit of time with injuries, he's not a long-term keep IMO if you're trying to build a contender years down the road. Solid move!
Great work from both GMs.
I approve.
