Kings continues to impress with terrific deal making. The quality of GMs in the league in 2023 is excellent. The trade committee has been relegated to a rubber stamp division.
I didn’t realize John Collins was dead money, but given his cap crunch and #2 pick still in his pocket, Philly clears 30m off the books as he finally turn’s the corner after tanking for six years (lol), and looks to get back into contention with a promising roster featuring the #2 pick, Devin Booker, Josh Giddey, Jalen Williams, RJ Barrett, Chet Holgren, Deandre Ayton, and Karl Anthony Towns.
It’s a lot of assets out the door, but it’s a strategically good move Philly had to make. I make losing trades that match my strategic aims all the time (see: Devin Booker for a kings pick), and I think sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and move forward.
Looking forward to seeing the 76ers contend.
I approve.

Tab this one for re-examination once Atlanta sorts out what to do with Collins IRL. I approve, nice work Kings!
