This bid does not work. Must be a annual increase of $.5 million. You could do 1 year 4.5 million.

I thought an increase of a year would negate the need for an increase of .5 million. I thought the bids were based on total. Guru please give some clarification.

3) Bidding. Some GMs still can't grasp how to bid haha. At MINIMUM, you need to offer the SAME yearly salary with MORE years. OR, you can offer a salary that is AT LEAST $.5M more per year. If your bid doesn't do this, it will be deleted

I have been confused about this too. That 3rd point has me convinced though that if you up the years you can't decrease the yearly salary.

Same yearly salary with more years. So a increase in years plus the same salary or more. Or a increase in salary by a margin of at least $.5 million.

Please note that you do have to pay out the rest of Kobe's contract even if he does retire after this season.
