Denver trades:
Wendell Carter Jr. 2.3 (2.4) (3) (4.1)
Terance Davis .5 .5 .5 .5
Alex Len .5 (.5);
Alec Burks 1 (1); and
Bryn Forbes 1.5 1.5 waived
5.8 total this year
Minnesota trades:
Justice Winslow 3.9
T Satoransky .5 (.5)
Jarrett Allen .7
Montrezl Harrell .5
5.6 total this year
I accept. I've been pretty outspoken with several gm's about my desire to improve my team's outlook this year, even if it means sacrificing a long term asset. This is that. I've been high on him since his draft and think he should continue to improve. The advantage gained by flipping the bottom guys on my roster for more production is too great though.

Yeah I accept. This one pretty plainly takes me in the wrong direction this year, even if I do get a guy I like a lot for the three afterward. The intent is to use the assets I have to shore things up and continue the dark horse run without ‘trez and Allen.

i approve.
this trade is pretty brutal for the nuggets in terms of absolute value... 8 years of WCJ and Davis, both studs, all on insanely cheap deals for the duration, for 1 year rentals on Winslow, Harrell, and Allen.
bru-tal.
it's even more iffy with Winslow out almost the whole season with a back injury. it might just be Harrell and Allen. yikes.
wolves just got so much more out of this, this has to be the worst trade i've ever seen nuggets make, at least on an absolute, long-term dynasty basis.
but it undeniably makes his team much stronger in the immediate, and i very much like the aggressive, all-in nature of this move. if Winslow is healthy, he's getting three 30+ FPPG guys on cheap 1-year deals, and unlike Mavs I'm a firm believer in going all-in to win the chip.
there's 16 teams in the league, you can't just sit passively and hope you win with 1 foot out of the door looking long-term every season.
nuggets has picked his spot, and i think strategically this move was good. tactically, in terms of the trade he made, i think it could have been better, but i understand the thought process and the 1 year benefits are undeniable. as someone who just traded away one of his favorite long-term pieces for more short-term goals i'm all the way there with him on this one.
i kind of like it! but the person in me who likes the value menu at mcdonald's very much hates it.
certainly going to be a polarizing move by the nuggets, but if it wins him a chip, you can't argue with the results.
wolves made out like a bandit, but very likely has bowed out of contention.
always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Clearly more of a win-now move by the Nuggets and more of a long term approach by the Wolves. I like this more for the Wolves than I do for the Nuggets, but it's a fair trade. Nuggets is cashing in to win now and I can respect that. I approve.
