Man, I’m so excited for Jrue this year. I think this is a lot to give up, but my team lacked a clear cut lead guy that could realistically return top 20 value. I think his contract is a steal at that price, and doesn’t cost me much cap moving off of Powell. Denver is coming for you, Phoenix. I accept.

Washington has let us know in the Discord that FA didn't go the way they'd hoped and they've soured on the "two year window." Most of public opinion is behind that notion, and I guess a rebuild phase is better late than never.
In a sense, Wiz has recouped the two picks they dropped on Jrue (two firsts was an overpay so that was in no way a given), but you sort of have to chalk up the extra pieces they're getting on the side to their taking back *$8.5million of the legendary Norman Powell Money*. Hard to say it wouldn't have been better if this whole saga had been avoided, but it's always nice to see two teams moving in logical directions. I approve.

I think Jrue is a great player on a good contract, but I'm also not a fan of this trade for Wizards because I feel like he's going backwards and trading for worse picks than he originally gave up to acquire Jrue. I was kind of curious to see how far the Wizards could go next season.
To Minnesota's point, if Washington has soured on the two year contention period and he's thinking more long-term, it does make sense to try and trade Holiday for the most value possible (and I really think Washington did get great value here).
I approve.
