Philly trades:
James Harden (21,21, 21,21) Jerami Grant (0.5m) Nerlens Noel (3.0, 3.0) ---------------------------------
Spurs send:
Deandre Ayton (5.0, 5.2, 6.5, 8.5) Blake Griffin (14, 14, 14, 14) Justice Winslow (3.9) Spurs 2023 1st rounder Wolves 2021 1st rounder _______________________________________________________________
I accept.
It saddens me to trade Harden but this move gets me someone I think is a stud in Justice Winslow and some decent throw ins with Blake and the two 1sts, Deandre Ayton just makes the salaries work for the both of us. I'll miss grant as he's a top 5 favorite player of mine in real life, but it was time to go.
Now my roster is more or less on the same timeline and I have what I think is a great group of young guys who have great potential.

Pushing in the chips.
I accept. Easy for me. This gives me the best player in the league.

What. A. Trade! I love it when things like this happen. Spurs is paying a huge premium for sure, but I don't think it's outrageous. Ayton is going to be a good player. Justise still really only maybe is one. Griffin is fantastic but also a walking (ideally) liability. Those two picks, as always, could be anything, or nothing. And when you can nab a superstar like this you absolutely go and do it. Philly has been threatening to rebuild for years, so it's nice to finally see that happening, too. I fully approve.

I think this is the absolute perfect sell high on Harden. Westbrook going into Houston will significantly reduce his production. And he has been able to get the pick 1 from last year, Blake Griffin, and 2 first round picks! Plus the potential of Winslow for a year. Crazy!
I approve. I'm well on Philly's side for this and think Spurs overpaid pretty badly here. But, Harden is Harden.
