Timberwolves Send: PG/SG Derrick Rose $500,000 $500,000 SF PJ Tucker $500,000 $500,000 $500,000 $500,000 MIN 2021 1st
Grizzlies Send: SF Mikal Bridges $1,800,000 $1,900,000 $1,900,000 $2,800,000 $3,800,000 PF T.J. Leaf $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 SG Nik Stauskas $1,500,000 $1,500,000
2019 and 2020 OKC 2nds
cap implications: Vancouver sheds $4.3 million for the 2018-19 season
I like Mikal Bridges, and I have more or less convinced myself that this is me taking the magic of Derrick Rose's *basketball-specific* redemption tour and using it to turn my 2021 selection into him. There are some other moving parts here, but the worst-case scenario is I use the picks to move the money.

Why are TJ Leaf and Stauskas included and being dumped onto Minnesota and why is Vancouver suddenly accumulating so many first rounders? Answer: Commissoner Mavs does a real good job at finding GMs I approve. This trade rocks for Grizzlies and sucks for Minnesota. Not bad enough to reject though.

A quick note: to make the roster spots work, and also because he is not good, Nik Stauskas is being waived.

I approve.
I definitely prefer this trade for the Grizz also. Mainly due to the two seasons of cap implication for the Wolves of Stauskas and Leaf. But I have no problem in someone giving up a future 1st round pick for Bridges.
