Phoenix Suns Trade Block
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, Devin Booker, D'Angelo Russell
They're 50, 42, 36, and 34 FPPG guys aged 23, 26, 21 and 22, respectively. They're Dynasty Superstars, and I'm not looking to trade these players, but willing to listen.
Rondae-Hollis-Jefferson
Close to the first tier for me, but I lack the re-sign to keep him in the next re-sign window, as I have Booker, D'Lo, and Giannis pegged for those 3 re-signs in 2021 and 2024.
He's a 28 FPPG starter at age 23 on only 27 minutes per game, and had a breakout season, with two years left on his rookie contract.
I traded Hassan Whiteside just to get him, that's how high I am on him. Would take a significant offer, but definitely more gettable than the previous four.
Jonathan Isaac
The 20 year old was breaking out last season before minor, nagging injuries saw the Magic play it ultra-safe and keep him out. He was the #6 pick in a very strong 2017 Rookie Draft, and many sites had him as high as #3, including TheRinger, who described him as a Draymond-lite.
He's the real deal, already a plus defender, and starting to develop his offensive game. The Magic went from a playoff team to a tanking disaster the second he got injured.
One negative is that Aaron Gordon plays PF, his natural position, and the Magic are heavy on bigs, but he's incredibly versatile and plays 50% of his minutes at PF, and 50% at SF, which he is very comfortable with, as a multi-positional defender. He can easily play 15 minutes at PF and 15 minutes at SF -- last season he was playing around 20 minutes a game and playing 10 minutes at each of the forward slots.
He's got a nice shooting stroke and can stretch for the floor, shooting 35% from 3 in his rookie season.
He spent all summer working hard and getting stronger, and I expect him to make a nice leap this season, and become a beast by Year 3.
Isaac has more work to do developing offensively than defensively, which is a bit of a negative for a contending team like myself, as it will take a bit more time for him to max out his FPPG, similar to the slower progression on that front that Kawhi experienced as a defense-first guy, but his upside is one of the highest in the draft.
TJ Warren
I've owned Devin Booker, Mike James, and Isaiah Canaan, so I watched a ton of Suns games last year. Everyone on that team was garbage except for Booker and Warren. Those guys carried this team hard.
He is available primarily because he only has one year left on his deal and I can't re-sign him.
Warren is only 24 years old, and put up 30 FPPG last season. He's legit, and a great re-sign target. I wish I had more years on his contract.
Someone negging him after my trade called him "a bit of a chucker" or some such, which is nonsense. He had 54% True Shooting on 16 shots a game as a Small Forward. On a dogshit team. At age 24. Often in brutal ISOs.
For comparison, he had the same production and efficiency as Donovan Mitchell and Blake Griffin, and better numbers than a lot of big names:
DeMar Derozan 56% TS on 18 shots
Donovan Mitchell 54% TS on 17 shots
Blake Griffin 54% TS on 17 shots
TJ Warren 54% TS on 16 shots
Aaron Gordon 53% on 15 shots
Dennis Shroeder 52% TS on 17 shots
John Wall 52% TS on 16 shots
Andrew Wiggins 51% on 16 shots
Kris Dunn 49% on 13 shots
Dennis Smith Jr. 47% on 15 shots
I have every confidence he is going to be a great fantasy producer for the next 10 years, especially if he gets traded. The Suns have a lot of SFs and it's not the best situation for him. Long-term he's going to be great, and given how many teams are short on good re-sign targets, I think he should be a high priority re-sign target, as he only has 1 year left on his deal.
Nikola Mirotic
Had a breakout year averaging almost 30 FPPG and finally putting it all together, and still only 27 years old, locked into a fantastic three year, 3.5m per year contract.
I'm interested in keeping him as it's a productive, inexpensive contract, but he is what he is at this point, and that's a 30 FPPG guy in his prime, so I'm not bound by blood to him or anything, and willing to entertain offers.
He's best on a contending team, as he's not going to become a Dynasty centerpiece or anything.
Tim Hardaway Jr.
One of the best cheapo contracts in the league, giving you 28 FPPG for 0.5m starting for the Knicks with no competition for the starting spot.
I'm also not really trying to move this contract as it fits perfectly on a contender, but if you're a bad team desperate for a re-sign, he could make sense for a franchise really short on re-signs. He put up 33 FPPG in his 2016 campaign, and he's still only 26 years old, playing a scarcity position.
Fellow playoff teams need not apply, as his value to you wouldn't be high enough for me to part with. Would have to be a tanking team looking to get value out of their re-signs.
LaMarcus Aldridge
He put up almost 40 FPPG last year, and 45 FPPG during the Guru playoffs!
That said, the odds of him getting traded are almost zero. Without Kawhi he should put up close to 40 FPPG again, which suits my needs perfectly.
He's too old to re-sign, and his contract is huge, so I'm not expecting any offers on him.
Denzel Valentine, Shabazz Napier
I'm holding them on cheap, long-term, team-friendly contracts hoping they have breakout years.
Denzel is a 23 year old lotto pick from 2 years ago who had a great year for the Bulls at SG and put up 23 FPPG, and looks to cement his status as a starter this year. I like his chances, and think he can be a good, productive young player. He's worth taking a flier on for tanking teams. He's not a transcendent superstar or anything, but he has the potential to be a 30 FPPG starter on a mediocre or bad team and he's on a great contract with 3 years worth of cheap team options. I like him, but the asking price isn't high, as I'm short on roster spots and trying to win a title.
Shabazz is 25 years old, was LeBron's favorite player 4 years ago in the draft, and was putting up 30 FPPG games whenever Dame or CJ were out, and looked really nice. Like a drunk hobo's Steph Curry. He's locked into an amazing 3 year, 500k per year contract, and he's no longer stuck on the Blazers.
If he falls into a good situation, he could produce really nice numbers if given 28-30 minutes a night.
Both have potential to shoot upwards in value and flirt with 30 FPPG with enough playing time, and both have the potential to be in favourable situations to do so.
They're very gettable with a reasonable offer, given I have 18 rostered players at the moment.
Jae Crowder, Dewayne Dedmon, Jeremy Lin
28-29 year old producers on ultra-cheap, 1 year contracts -- ideal for contenders. Not looking to sell, but if the price is right I'm not attached to them.
They should each net between 24-28 FPPG this season.
JJ Redick and John Henson
Both locked into cheap, positive deals for 3 years. Neither are particularly exciting, but they outproduce their contracts. Henson produces 22 FPPG for 500k, and Redick 24 FPPG for 2m.
Both can be had for a 2nd rounder, as I'm out of them and need to stock up.
