Portland Trail Blazers receive: Markelle Fultz $4.4M $4.6M $5.9M $7.6M 2018 CHI 1st (#4) Caris LeVert $.7M Dejounte Murray $1.8M $2.7M $3.8M
Yogi Ferrell $3M $3M Lineup Infraction $2.5M Sindarius Thornwell $.6M Alan Williams $.5M $.5M Monta Ellis $7.5M
Total: $21M
Chicago Bulls receive: Jimmy Butler $18.5M Clint Capela $.5M Dwight Howard $13M 13M 2020 BOS 1st
Total: $32M
The tank rolls on! I had been preaching and spouting that I was going to compete with Jimmy and the crew buuuuuut, after taking a long hard look at things, I realized it wasn't quite possible. I really only had 3 stars, a few up-and-comers, and a bunch of projects. It wasn't happening. With this trade, Chicago gets to add 3 stars to their already burgeoning arsenal of young stars and I get to "retool while remaining competitive." (Atlanta Hawks)
I accept.

I am making some win now moves. This helps towards the goal. I just traded my 2019 pick and that means I won't be drafting much at all next year so I have nothing to live for anymore. Might as well make a good team to potentially win it all?

This trade is absolutely sickening. I can't stomach to look at it. I refuse to vote on this and will let Wolves and Pelicans decide what they want to do. In my entire history of Basketball Guru, I have never seen such a disgusting trade. I will be taking a temporary hiatus from the league to recover.

I had to make a whole new test roster to see how these teams look now. And...well, they both seem to have accomplished their goals. Clint Capela is for real, I don't think Jimmy B is washed, and Dwight is still good for empty stats if not for locker rooms. These new look Bulls could make a case for the playoffs next year, maybe, and I'm pretty much always in favor of teams trying to get more competitive. That said, shame on you Blazers. Shame.
I approve (but not of Blazers).

I approve.
But, I think the good work the Bulls did in the other trade is undone here. I'm super down on Dwight, as a player of his type is antiquated in the modern NBA. I love Capela, and Jimmy should be Jimmy. But, boy oh boy, #4 and Fultz, for these guys, most of who are expiring, along with a pick in a distant future. I don't like it at all. But, credit to the Bulls for taking a risk.
