SEATTLE SUPERSONICS TRADE:
2018 Seattle 1st Round Draft Pick 2018 Seattle 2nd Round Draft Pick 2018 Seattle 2nd Round Draft Pick (Via Spurs) 2018 Seattle 2nd Round Draft Pick (Via Timberwolves)
Gordon Hayward 16.7m
VANCOUVER GRIZZLIES TRADE:
2018 Vancouver 1st Round Draft Pick
Lebron James 16m
I know I know, the potential number one pick. It could be someone great, or I could pick a flop. With Lebron, I am getting a bona fide star. Hes got a few great years left. With my aging roster and the way my contracts are set up, I got one more shot at this before its time to tank. So im trading my number one pick. Hayward is great, but there are a ton of good players in Boston, I just dont see him putting up the same numbers he did in Utah. I also dont have to take on the risk of him never being the same player he once was post injury. Additionally I get the grizzlies pick so I will potentially have the 8th and 10th picks in the draft. I am trading him my second rounders. the only one I feel has any value is my second rounder. The other two and VERY late in the draft. He can have them. I get Lebron, and I have two picks in the top ten. Im happy with that.

I've enjoyed getting shit on in Discord and I wouldn't do my argument any justice by rehashing it here so I'll just cut to the chase.
This trade is incredibly fair and has some really good arguments from both side. I approve.

It was under-reported that Seattle got back Vancouver's pick in this trade. If we ignore those late 2nds (because they're almost certainly not going to wind up as signed players and that makes them almost certainly literally worthless), Sonics moves back 8 (or so) spots and upgrades Hayward to Lebron. Even if Hayward comes back 100% this is one you can look back on well. Big step towards contention for Seattle and finally some light shining in Grizzlies land. I all the way approve.
