Los Angeles Lakers Receive: 2016 CHI 1st (2) Taj Gibson $9.00M
Total: $9.00M
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: 2016 HOU 1st (3) 2016 MIL 1st (8) Rondae Hollis-Jefferson $1.10M $1.20M $2.00M $3.00M Dwight Powell $0.50M $0.50M $0.50M
Total: $1.60M $1.70M $2.50M $3.50M
In exchange for an extremely valuable pick in what many believe to be a two man draft, I receive some desperately needed cap relief to the tune of $7.40M, a pair of promising picks, and a pair of promising lower end prospects.
The Lakers receive yet another highly valuable prospect in the #2 to complement the rest of their young core and have the expansive room to take on Gibson's contract.
I accept.

I accept , the way I look at this trade is #2 for #3 in a two man draft then I give up #8 . RHJ and Powell to make sure I get the future I need. Portland still gets two picks that will help them out but no one is sure about RHJ yet. I have the cap to carry Gibson if I want so this all works out.

I accept.
I prefer Portland's side of this deal. Especially looking back at the Lillard for pick 3, RHJ and some others deal. This basically turns into Lillard, pick 8 and Powell for Pick 2 and Taj Gibson's salary.
But if whichever of Simmons or Ingram you end up with, becomes one of the best players in the leagues in a couple of years, then it is almost worth it. But, I don't know if I would have parted with RHJ, #3 and #8 for it...

I accept.
Unless Ingram becomes Kevin Durant, Portland comes up on top of this deal. I am concerned that, while the Lakers publicly state they are competing, their roster resembles a team rebuilding.
I think one of the problems we need to look into for next season is shortening the moratorium. I noticed that, sometimes, we make trades purely for the sake of doing something. I am not saying this trade is an example of this but this does need to be addressed before next offseason.

I don't understand why you are concerned about my team rebuilding or competing but I am happy with it.

I don't think he's concerned with you competing or not, just saying it looks like you're rebuilding (on paper at least) but you say you're competing. Only time will tell.
