The Boston Celtics would like to announce their first trade under their new name:
BOS Sends:
- PF Bobby Portis 1.30 1.40 2.10 3.00 - SF/PF Markieff Morris 7.40 8.00 8.60 - 2016 14th Overall
Overall $$$ Out: 8.70 Mil ______________________
MIN Sends:
- PG/SG Kyrie Irving 17.00 18.20 19.40 20.60
Overall $$$ Out: 17.0 Mil ______________________
My Reasoning: #1: As much as I would like to field a team entirely made up of PF's, that just isn't going to happen. I had to consolidate some of my big men for guard depth, and found that this was a good opportunity.
#2: My initial thought was to move up in the draft and draft one of the guards, but this ended up being a little difficult. The asking price was either too much to get where I wanted, the team wanted to use their pick, or the offered pick was just out of the range to comfortably get me my guy.
#3: This ended up being my best option. I know I sought to rid myself of huge contracts, but this trade still leaves me with flexibility, gives me someone in a position of need, and most importantly is only 24 YO.
Portis was an important asset, but you got to give to get, especially with a star PG.
I accept.

Kyrie is a young, talented Point Guard, who I actually think is past his injury woes and stands to tear the league up Harden-style (by which I mean, "Offensively but definitely not defensively") if he gets sent packing from Cleveland in a couple of weeks here. I wasn't even overpaying him, yet, but it wasn't going to get easier to move his contract in a couple of years when I would be. Especially because the weight of his contract really sets in after most of the NBA-set contracts will run out, I really wanted to move him before we get there.
With Melo, Rubio and now Irving's contracts shipped out, I am ready to usher in a new era of smart management for this organization. I think 'Kieff will live up to his wages, especially after a summer of settling in with his team and new coach. I have high hopes for Portis in his role as Point Center for the good-god-surely-they'll rebuild-now Bulls, and I think there's value hiding down at #14.
The new look Wolves aren't complete, especially as our PG depth now hangs entirely on the health of Jrue Holiday and the illustrious talents of TJ McConnell, but at this point we've got the flexibility we need to get this era started right.

I like this trade from both. Drop some salary for Portis, one of the Morris' and a late 1st round pick. Sure you lose Kyrie who could be one of the top 5 PGs, but a lot of what happens in Cleveland I think depends on Lebron. He just dominates the ball so much (obviously, best basketball player ever), that it becomes difficult for guys around him to be solid fantasy players. But if he goes elsewhere, or Kyrie goes somewhere else, big points coming.
I accept.
